Q1: Are market data and information (such as statistics, demand estimates, etc.) available for international companies to make informative decisions?

Answer: Yes; there are several official and simi-official sources in Iraq for such information and reports, but maybe they are not exactly like what is usually available in developed economies in terms of the amount they were made available and the accuracy of the information. We in EES&IPS know, however, how to correctly interpret them and correctly extrapolate required conclusions. Many of these market-related data and information are either not published at all, or published on a very limited scale, or published in Arabic only. EES&IPS has the required access to all these sources of information. In addition, and when ready-to use information are not available at all, we have the experience and knowledge that is required to collect needed data from the field and create the needed statistical information out of them.

Q2:  Oil and Gas is Iraq’s biggest wealth; is this always where international companies should direct their investments?

Answer: Not necessarily; this sector is heavily dominated by political parties and their companies; it actually witnessed several corruption scandals. Being the biggest wealth of Iraq doesn’t mean it is the most lucrative sector for international companies. Nevertheless, the wealth that the country is making out of this sector specifically feeds in all other sectors. EES&IPS usually advises international EPCs and OEMs to target other sectors where the room is much bigger for everybody to come and offer their products and services.
